Shadowbringers [5.0]: Post may contain potential spoilers.
The Flounders’ Floor
I’ve been floundering as of late. Now lets just let that phrase cook a bit. And… Yeah that was a pointless joke. Almost as if I’m floundering the introduction of today’s post.
Anyway, This was meant to be the post for yesterday but I had replaced it with the Crystarium’s point of interest due to the drastic difference of screenshots. I don’t really have much to say with this place sadly. I could say that it looks cool but in reality. I don’t really feel anything with this area. Honestly, outside of Amaurot this zone is very barren. This whole expansion hasn’t been connecting to me in any special way oddly.
This might be me overthinking but I do think there was more life in the older expansions due to their size. Especially with A Realm Reborn. A Realm Reborn zones are tiny in comparison with recent expansions. As such they are able to compact a lot more and give things life. At the same time though I do question the geography of the world because A Realm Reborn feels so small to the point that it doesn’t make sense. How can an arid biome immediately jump into a harsh and snowy biome that appears not that far away from each other?
Its for those reasons that I just question the logic of the world and wonder if many others put much thought into it. Eitherway, as a final zone for Shadowbringers. Its by far the worst out of the bunch. Endwalker zones has a lot going for them in my opinion. Although, I do dislike one of them a fair amount due to other reasons.
So yeah thats all I got for today’s post. No where close to what I had done yesterday. One thing that I will mention is that I did look into a bit further and it appears that I can only place a single bid per lottery period. Damn. In the grand scheme that would make sense since it would allow people to effectively boost their chances on winning a plot if they got the gil for it. Which is a tad sad considering I just made it where I could bid for two plots at the same time.
I do need to verify that limit though since I got it from some random third-party website. It doesn’t really matter in the end since the likelihood of me getting a plot is rather slim. It would actually be good to know if I’m stuck with a single bid since that would mean that others are forced onto the same path. Regardless, I will have made a decision once the lottery period begins.
One last thing I gotta mention is the fact that people are complete and utter idiots in this game. I sold some dye while typing in this post that I had paid 40 gil from a freely accesible vendor. I marked the price by 10 times and someone actually bought it. Truthfully, I knew that this was a thing in the past when I would occasionally sell glamour prisms and dark matter on the board. Its just so weird to see it happen still.
With all of that out of the way. I shall bring a close to today’s post. I hope you folks have a good day/night!
