Shadowbringers [5.0]: Post may contain potential spoilers.

Fort Gohn

If you were to watch the trailer for Shadowbringers you could see this place burn in it. Atleast from the similar visuals of the place. Something that I sort’ve forgot to mention is that this Shard in comparison to the Source aren’t on the same time scale. I don’t remeber exactly but from when this burned down and the Warrior of Light reaches this place. It was about 2 years in the First Shard however the Warrior of light only experienced probably a month or two of it from the Source.

Side note: I’m not going to get into great detail about the Source or Shards mainly due to my time allotment and interest. The main thing that I will say is that the Source is where the Warrior of Light (Player Character) originates from and Shards are sort’ve like reflections of the Source (alternate worlds).

With that out of the way. Lets finally talk about what has been on my mind in regards with Youtube.

Youtube

So… Currently Google has introduced a new thing called “Web Environment Integrity” and is meant to be introudced into chrome. It hasn’t been introduced at this moment nor is there any signs of it being implemented anytime soon. Although, it brings about a rather unwelcome sign for various individuals. Its intended target is to snuff out Adblocking extensions and potentialy force other browser into submission. By submission I mean that Google and various other companies may join together implementing this “protocol” which may prevent non-compliant browsers from accessing the site. Not saying such software already exists, but this is basically Google’s way of strong arming everyone to comply so that they can get people to ditch adblockers.

I personally have used adblockers for a very long time now. Its a really weird experience when I do see ads in a way. Honestly, I try to avoid seeing advertisements nowadays since I rarely ever see them that they will get my attention way too easily. Plus they are just annoying. Mind you I don’t have strong issues paying to get rid of ads. I even did that back when Youtube Red was a thing. Although I stopped doing that once I found a way to watch Youtube videos on my phone without needing to use their app. However, if they do implement this new protocol I might be considering on limiting my activty on Youtube alot.

Youtube is honestly the only Social media platform that I use heavily and have been using for over a decade. Its really difficult for me to split ways from it. In fact, I have tried many times yet always failing. Although, due to me ditching Reddit fairly easily. I feel like similar results might happen with Youtube as well. The sad reality is that there’s still too much I rely on Youtube for. So its going to be a challenge unlike with Reddit regardless.

Only time will tell but one that needs a solution quickly. Besides by the time Google fully implements this new protocol. People would have likely found ways to get around it, so it might not matter in the end.

One last thing that I should mention is that if I were to make future videos. I will still probably put them onto Youtube as of now, but I will probably consider on uploading to alternate platforms like peertube. Nothing with certainty though.

Anyhow, thats all I got for today and I hope you folks have a good day/night!
