Bloodhowe

So here’s a place with a lot of corpses. Its even said that throughout the night. Ghosts from the past creep along these graves waiting for their next pray. I don’t know really. Some stuff has crept up for me in the past few days. Annoying to say the least, but has resulted me in sleeping past the deadline yesterday. Well… to be more accurate I spent way too much time reading some story and now feel empty after completing it in under 36 hours.

Some Random Stuff

Well I shouldn’t say empty, but it has been a long time since I’ve read a story that has an actual finish. Its refreshing to say the least, but annoying considering that I took years of work and condensed it into 2 days. Seriously, what am I suppose to do with myself now. Its even more annoying that it had to be some Romance Mystery Genre type of story.

To keep it simple, I don’t really like Romance stories all that much. Mainly because I see it done in the exact same ways all of the time. I also don’t like it when that genre is the main focus. Honestly, I think the crux of the problem is that I’ve seen way too much Anime, Manga and or Light Novels that have Harems in it. I think Harems have burnt me on the whole romance idea.

For the uninitiated, lets just take a quote from Wikipedia to explain what harem means:

“group of polyamorous females or males who accompany the protagonist and, in some instances, live with the protagonist. Intimacy is customary but never necessary.”

The problem with Japan is that this its one of the most common tropes with their stories. Almost every other Anime has some form of Harem and it also trickles down into the other types of media. Its pretty bad and a lot of those stories are pretty pathetic as well. Sure… I will watch a show like Shadow in Eminence not because of great quality, but because I’m bored and want to watch something (Although, it has some great moments.)

Anyways, the story that I had read is called “Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion”. Its a phenomenal story and while the antagonist doesn’t get much spotlight. How they implement that character is simply stellar to me.

As a whole, the story is hands down one of my favorite romance stories (which isn’t saying much). However, I feel like there’s a few nitpicking issues like a fairly annoying Deus Ex Machina during the Climax of the story. Then again, this story feels more tied towards its romance and so much in the mystery department. For me personally, I wish they touched a bit more on certain aspects of the plot, but at the same time its a complete story that I think any will enjoy.

Oh yeah, I read the webtoon version of the story and while its originally a light novel. It appears that a few books haven’t been fully translated to English. The Webtoon version should take you to the end of the Main Story. There’s a few side stories, but is very small in comparison (I haven’t read them either)

One correction I need to make. Apparently, there’s only 4 books and all but one is available online in English. For some stupid reason I thought there were 7 books in total. Woops. Damn… Now I kind’ve wish that I had read the light novels instead. Atleast I wouldn’t have blew through the story as fast. Although, I’m a tad confused with the descriptions of the books. I don’t know if the 4th book is just a side story or a combination of both the side story and its ending. Either way, I don’t intend to get the books since I already seen how it ends and all.

Conclusion

Thats about all I got for today. I do apologize for yesterday, but this story had consumed my life for the past 2 days now. I do have a few other real life woes as well, but hopefully they will be resolved soon.

Anyhow, I hope you folks have a good day/night!
