Currently, I am doing a video for The Churning Mists. I mostly, got every area recorded and at this stage I just need to stich all of the clips together. The only real challenge at this stage is trying to make the weather and time seamless. Thats an added challenge for myself. Honestly, I’m doing it just to make it look nice. To give you some idea as to how much work this will take to make a video. I currently have 21 recordings about 5-10 minutes each long. I need to try and condense it down into 1 60 minute video while making the days and nights seemless between each other. Including the weather as well. Essentially, I can’t have one clip that is a clear day sky jumping to another clip that is storming and night with out at least some way to cleanly transition between them. Another stupid problem that is honestly more of a me issue. Is that by default in Gpose mode. The weather and time of day is paused and stays the same. You have to manually disable them to allow the passage of time to exist. Because of this. I have multiple recordings where I forget to disable the pause and have essentially wasted minutes or hours of my time.
Oh yeah thats the other challenge behind this project. Weather. Weather is a fickle mistress that sometimes just likes to but in the worst of times. Thankfully, I was able to salvage it with The Churning Mists and even gotten some impressive shots because of it. However, it adds a hole new layer of planning that takes even more time since I could be in a situation where the weather doesn’t want to change and I have to wait for over an hour for it to clear up. Its quite frustrating at times. Thankfull, Skywatcher npcs exist. They help forecast the weather of whatever zone you want for free. The only problem is that I keep forgetting that they exist. Also, because of their niche mechanics. I’m probably one of the very few people who will ever use them regularly.
With that out of the way. I’ll probably get this uploaded by wednesday. I can spend tomorrow night on stiching the video together and finding out what else I’m missing. Wednesday, I can finish the final touches and upload it onto Youtube hopefully with including chapters (If I know how to that is.)
