Hanging Plumes

To be quite honest, I have no real idea behind these things. My only guess is that they were cages of some kind. Although, clearly one of the have failed which leads me to suspect they don’t really use them all that much. Outside of that I do think these are pretty neat as a whole. Makes one wonder how light the wood is in order to support its own weight.

Solarian Nations Part 2

Ermor Empire

Ah yes the grand empire that has lasted for centuries through its sheer malicious attitude towards its own people. To be quite frank this is a nation tha honestly shouldn’t really exist. The only reason why it has survived for as long it has is due to propaganda and lack of information spreading within it. Especially, in the northern parts of the lands.

Yuan-ti are the supreme of these lands any who aren’t them are considered as fodder or slaves to them. There’s literally only one path that outsiders can take through the lands of Ermor that won’t make you become a slave. Although, I won’t deny that some of the Yuan-ti make a living hunting those on that singular path for game. Its an incredibly harsh environment that once you’re no longer on the path. You are consider a citizen of Ermor and in turn a slave. interestingly enough, becoming a slave as an outsider isn’t all that bad. It isn’t all that difficult to escape and typically you do receive some luxuries for aslong you live near the path. Yuan-ti are actually forbidden from taking slaves far away from the path if they orginate from there (Outside from the higher up nobles). The main reason for this is to control the spread of information.

Northern Region

While the Southern Ermor is by far the best place to live as a slave and Yuan-Ti. The northern regions are by far the most barren portions of their lands. The main reason is because Yuan-ti are the rulers of the land and they don’t like the colder climates. As such when they annexed the lands above them. They tend to decimate all who live there in order to ensure they have little reason to go back there unless its for fodder in their perpetual war with the Republic of Alteros. Due to the lackluster appearance of the Yuan-ti many of the villages that had exist up there became nomadic.

Generations of people have lived through the turmoil of Ermor and at this stage they know very little of the lands outside of it. Very few have a desire to escape the lands and are typically prey to the fangs of the Yuan-ti. Most of these nomadic tribes sizes are about 100-150 people. Some times even less if they were recently found by the Yuan-ti. Thankfully, these tribes tend to avoid the few slums that exist in the northern regions.

Slums are where cities use to exist before they were pillage and raze to the ground by the yuan-ti. Now they serve as “breeding grounds” to ensure that Yuan-ti always have fodder availble to be used in their wars. Because of this they tend to have an ever presence of the Yuan-ti to ensure the “cattle” is always discilplined. It wouldn’t be surprising that some of the races that exist in these slums have lost all forms of communication. Some times Yuan-ti will go on hunts for the nomadic tribes to freshen up their fodder. The more higher noble’s owned slums tend to be a tad more gracious than the “common” ones. Which just essentially means that they are given a tad of freedom on what they do throughout their days for aslong they work.

While up in the northern regions its typical frowned upon the Yuan-ti to outright slaughter entire tribes or slums because slaves are valuable assets for them.

Southern Region

While the path was mentioned before, Its also the main source of fresh slaves outside of the few villages that do exist in the southern regions. Slaves in this region have far more freedoms than what the Northern ones are given. Not only that they are at times give responsibilities and even prestigie for aslong they serve one of the “nicer” Yuan-ti. They are also usually given fare more knowledge of the world for aslong they keep their loyalties in check. This doesn’t mean that they are constantly troubled by the decisions of the Yuan-ti, but it helps stifle any form of rebellion for a good while.

Unfortunately, I’m not going to delve too much futher becasue I’m straining the limit of ideas I have at the moment. I’ll probably expand further on it when I need to.

Perpetual War with Alteros

To be quite frank, its not really much of a war but a way for the Yuan-ti to have sport with their fodder. Sometimes the Yuan-ti will consider it as a form of purge of the slaves sins (their race). Other times they just like to see a bunch of slaves be massacred by Alteros in the hopes of diminishing their morale. I won’t delve too much into this either since I do want to reveal a bit more as the players experience it themselves.

Welp this is quite a long post today. Thankfully, I decided to do this before work because otherwise I would’ve rush this post and gotten not even half of this into it. Anyhow, I hope you guys have a good day/night.
