Dhoro Iloh
Fun little fact about this place. You aren’t really suppose to get here before flight. Atleast to my knowledge.
There’s no obvious pathway leading to the top here nor is there a way to “teleport” there either. However, clearly I was able to reach here without flight through fairly simple means. I just awkwardly climbed the side of a cliff.
There was no challenge to the task. The main obstacle was simply knowing where to climb the side of the cliff. Which I learned through a video. Honestly, its nothing special but its still neat to think that I got here without flight.
On that note, lets talk about this place in general. I can honestly see why its practially impossible to reach this place. The whole place is deserted. I wonder why they even settle at this place with a freakin Aetheryte and yet not a single soul in sight.
Seriously, this entire zone is making me ask more and more questions as to what in the world is happening here. This is merely another example of that oddity. I’ll delve further into this realm of mysteries on another day.
Actually, I just looked online briefly to see what info I can get out of it. Apparently, it appears to be tied to some tribal stuff I think. I won’t deny that I don’t do the tribal stuff all that much. I only just started to dabble a little into them.
Goaccess Stuff
This was mentioned a while ago. I use Goaccess to sort’ve track the amount of visitors visiting the website. Personally, I don’t like using stuff like google analytics and other tracking tools. While there are some I might be willing to dabble into. Once again, I prefer not using stuff that an Ad Blocker would prevent.
As such I use a tool like Goaccess that looks at the network traffic logs left from Nginx. Now technically, its not a perfect tool. It will log web crawlers, bots and other non-user clients as individual visits. I use filters to get rid a fair chunk of them, but I haven’t updated nor properly setup the filter. Due to this, I never fully tusted the data that Goaccess presents.
One of these days I will fix that filter issue, but thats not why I’m talking about it. The core issue right now with Goaccess is a fairly simple one. The data is useless to me.
To be more specific, Goaccess seems more built towards daily logs than logging months worth of data. Can it do both? Yes, however I feel that how it presents data on a long scale to be insufficent. What I mean by this is a simple one. Its ain’t human readable. Lets use an example to demonstrate what I mean.
So what information do you think you can learn from this? Nothing? Well you would be correct. The problem with all of these tables outside of a couple. Is that it combines all of the data over the course of months into a single graph. Meaning that for every day that goacces has logged. It will throw every piece of information into this table with no context. This means that I would need to alter how I display this data in a more comprehensible way. As such, I intend to ditch the whole combining and storing all of the log data onto a single html file.
Essentially, I’m going to produce a seperate html file per day. The only problem is how I’m going to send that file to myself in a conveinent way. Its going to be a bland solution. I’m gonna have the server email the file to me for every day. This won’t particularly be helpful if I want to look at it on a monthly scale, but it will be a lot easier to discern whats going on a daily basis.
I don’t know when I intend to implement this alternative approach, but I’ll do it at some point soon (hopefully).
Oh yeah, here’s the overal statisics from the Nginx Logs.
Disclaimer: The Unique Visitors isn’t an accruate number. Thats based on the cumulative amount of unique visitors per day. Meaning one person visiting the site on one day and visiting it again on another day. Will count it as two seperate unique visits.
One thing that I should mention. The “Not Found” section is mostly due to me having the browser attempting to acquiring certain images, but failing due to the files not existing. I should fix that (since I could be having an entire different issue).
Conclusion
Dang, I’ve been gated by the deadline as of late with these recent posts. Unfortunately, I’m not giving myself enough time to prepare on what I want to talk about these past days. I should dabble into the idea of creating a routine for myself more.
Anyhow, I hope you folks will have a good day/night!
