The Dawn Throne

Its sort’ve difficult to consider it as the “Dawn Throne” when its covered inside a building. They should’ve let it bake out in the sun. No matter. I was going to say that the folks sitting on the throne shouldn’t be there. Although, I think there was a reason that I may have forgotten. May have something to do with a “little sun”, but who knows. Honestly, I’m just saying nonsense.

I don’t really know how long this post will be since I do need to prepare for a tomorrow meeting outside of town. Gonna be a rather long and annoying trip.

Crafting Endgame Gear

I should’ve expected it to be worse. To be frank, it was my first rodeo. However it still proven how resource intensive the whole thing was. I didn’t expect that in order to craft everything for all of the crafters. It would take over 37.5k white scrips. Quite the number to say the least. Either way, it would be a long grind and I don’t know what would be worse. The Submersibles or crafting ilvl 620 gear. I suppose the nice thing about the 620 gear is that its mainly gated behind the astronomy tomes. Where as the submersibles are gated through voyage specific items. Its been multiple months and while I did botch with type of submersible parts. I still have yet acquired enough cocobolo lumber to unlock the final tier of components. I’m at a stage where if I spent about a day of my time. I can probably get the remaining components to finish acquire cocobolo lumber or do craft a portion of the 620 gear.

Honestly, it just comes down to preference and how much time you would like to invest. Personally for me though. I need flipping gil. I’m broke for the upteenth time in this game and it always feels like it never improves. I had about 600k gil in the past week. Now I’m down to 100k gil past the limit of where I typically keep it at (300k). Thankfully, I’m at a stage where I don’t really need to invest a huge amount of time to achieve what I want. It gets to the point and stage where its more conveinent to gather and craft materials than it is to buy it. Although, If I could just have about 1-2 million gil. I should be able to craft the vast majority of the 620 gear. I can craft it. I just don’t have the materials. (Partly because I forgot to upgrade the gear on my gatherers and can’t gather the needed materials.)

Technically, there’s a way to buy gil in this game through offical means. Its called Job skips. Job skips cost about 25$ per job and will give some allagan silver pieces worth a total of 500k gil. This means that you can buy gil, but its exorbiantly expensive and you can probably only do it once per job (unless another expansion were to come out. No idea). I don’t particularly recommend this route nor through other “illicit” forms of RMT. This game is all about the journey and not the destination.

Casual or Hardcore?

I wouldn’t consider myself a hardcore player nor really a casual one. Although, it really depends on one interpretation. Since I hardly ever do raids or savage/extreme content. It easy to say that I’m more of a casual player. I wouldn’t deny that, but considering that I play this game on a daily basis. Nearly multiple hours a day. It wouldn’t exactly be appropiate to call me casual either. I’m probably better off to be attributed as part of the middle ground between hardcore and casual. I delve onto the deep end when it comes to crafting and gathering, but not so much in terms of comabt. Don’t get me wrong, I love to do battle related content. Unfortunately, I don’t really like playing it with randoms. I prefer to play the game with a group of people that I can get to know to a degree.

Then again, I rarely play this game with people that I know. Thats probably why I get invested into crafting and gathering. I do try to “recruit” new Warriors of Light, but it doesn’t really seem to work out in the end. I think they are afraid of the whole “subscription” service or something. To be quite honest, I feel like the subscription part of the game is what gives it so much gold. Technically, there’s a trial up to level 60 with no time limits, but I personally despise it.

Some may find it peculiar, but the reason being is that the trial heavily restricts you on the social aspects of the game. I wouldn’t mind it in some ways, but if I want to make friends or interact with some folks. It borderline becomes insane of an idea. Then again, its a great way for people to be introduced into the story with no concerns of paying a dime on the game.

Anyways, back to the whole casual or hardcore thing. The idea of it is kind’ve annoying in some regards. I’m personally not fond of people calling me a casual player (even if I may agree with them). However, I feel like that would be the same if I were to be called a hardcore player. I don’t really like either extremes, but its so easy to label an entire community to either side. Its one of the most annoying aspects that we as humans share (even I’m not immune to it). There always has to be this idea that there’s us and then there’s them. The crux of this problem is that people like me have to go about mentioning the crap and in turn cause people to discuss (or argue) an arbitrary thing. It can even result in some players fighting over others all because a certain mechanic in the game gives more love to “Casual” players more so than the “Hardcore” ones. Its an unfortunate reality that we place ourselves in.

Overall, if you sit there thinking about “am I a casual player or hardcore player?” its best to end that line of thought and to just enjoy the game. Unless, you are like me who is just trying to find some idea on what to type about. (There goes the ulterior motive)

Back to Solarian

So I kind’ve gotten distracted with the whole Zandarium thing yesterday. What I wanted to talk about yesterday. Was that I wanted to get back into talking about the world I was creating. Now I don’t expect it to be entirely consistent right now. It really depends on what kind of phase I’m in. If I’m in a phase to make more work on Solarian. Then I’ll talk about it here. Otherwise, you probably won’t hear a peep out of me. Nothing really special to say, but I wanted to clarify from last night’s interruption. Oh boy, I just been blasted with the realization that I’m just adding on more projects to myself and very little time to work one them. If it means anything to you. Atleast there will be plenty to talk about in the foreseeable future! (yay………)

Conclusion

Looks like my prediction was wrong for today. I wasn’t really planning to go on a whole tangent about casual and hardcore players. It appears that I’ve somewhat improved on actually being able to type what’s in my mind in the past few days. Although, quality of my posts are still lacking.

Moving on from that. I hope you folks have a good time. May it ever be as fruitful as before.
