Stormblood [4.0]: Post may contain potential spoilers.
The One Garden
Hello all! I won’t have too many shots for this area, but my eyes were captured to this location. I suppose the name is true in that its the only garden, but I have no idea why. Another odd thing to mention is how flipping tall the structure is. Why build pillars that high. Not only that but this place kind’ve feels more of an outdoor dining place. The reason is because of the chairs and table spanning across the edge.
Still its a fairly neat place that would give an excellent view to doma itself (Did I mention about getting a screenshot yesterday? Oh well.) I like how you can get a fairly good shot of the Aetheryte plaza from here. Although, I think the view from the seats aren’t that great. Regardless, this is by far the only garden to appear like this. (I don’t seem to have the same level of taste than these Domans do)
Leveling Crafters
So as expected, I didn’t work on editing and publishing the video today. There’s a very good reason for that. Down below is the effort I spent this whole day trying to reach the finish line.
Ta da! Now I can “realisticly” consider myself a crafting mentor. I actually have no idea if I had mention about becoming one. Then again, the mentor crafting status is pretty easy to acquire in comparison of the mentor staus as a whole. Although, I don’t really want to be those people that just use it like I’m better. If people come by asking questions in regards to crafting. I would genuinely try to help. Although, there’s still a various amount of stuff I’m not familiar with (thankfully, the internet exists.)
Regardless, this has been a long-term goal for months now. I think this leveling progression started around when I began working on submersibles. That was about half a year ago from now.
Completely forgot about the fact that my fisher hasn’t reached 90 yet. To be quite honest, I haven’t bothered with it all that much. I reach level 60 in about a week or so doing ocean fishing, but took a bit of a hiatus from that. Since then, I focused primarily on leveling my crafters and finishing their questlines (that was horrible). Maybe I should talk about the stories behind each disciple and give my own opinion on them? Unfortunately, I don’t recall all of them and would rather dedicate a specific amount of time on them. What I will say is that some were enjoyable and others I just skipped all of the cutscenes.
Sadly, it wasn’t really the fault of the quests. More so, it was due to the fact that I just wanted it to get over with. Either way, I’ll plan some day discussing my thoughts on the crafters’ stories. (Unlikely to do it tomorrow.)
Dwarf Fortress Stuff
So I bought Dwarf Fortress on Steam and played about 2 and in a half hours in the game. Played mostly through the tutorial and just kind’ve messed around. Down below is an image of the “fortress” that I had made so far. Although, when I hop back in. I might just restart anyhow.
A very core aspect about Dwarf Fortress, is preparation. Clearly I had not real plans till receiving my first caravan. To be frank, I’m doing it because I have a bunch of corpses in one of my main stockpiles and is constantly spreading miasma. I tried to resolve it, but the dwarves simply don’t care on moving the corpses into the dump. Likely reason being that the dump pile is too far away. In regards on me making stories out of the game. I don’t have any explicit plans other than that I might do it once a week. The main reason being that I don’t want another project that takes more time into my already constrained day. (thanks FFXIV, thanks Work) I’ll think of something once I get more comfortable with the game and will actually enjoy it in the long-term.
While I say that I want to make stories using Dwarf Fortress. I personally know from experience that I don’t play a lot of colony sim games. I had played Rimworld a fair amount, but I struggle pursuing beyond the early stages of the game. Dwarf Fortress may suffer a similar fate. Then again, I think the game is a better suited to me than the sci-fi renegade world that Rimworld has. (The artstyle doesn’t really help either). For right now. I’ll play the game at my own pace and if I find myself investing a significant amount of time. Then I’ll proceed further on implementing my ideas into the blog.
For now lets continue to “Strike the Earth!”
Side note: I had to check in see if that phrase was the right one I was thinking. I had checked a website that mentions to be a quick start guide and I just love the additional part of the title:
“Strike the Earth! A Quick-Start Guide for “Dwarf Fortress”… Or How Not to Close the Game as Soon as You Open It.”

Website stuff
I need to atone for my hasty assumptions. I thought that the background that ProtonDB uses. Were created by them. In fact, double checking the link to the image. Its source was from Steam CDN (Content Delivery Network I believe). So it appears that the folks at ProtonDB didn’t create the image. They are simply taking the work that Steam had already worked on. That would explain the blue hue a bit more I think. Since that hue matches fairly closely to the Steam app itself.
With attonment finalize. I’ve been considering of what background image to use. My first thought was the one down below.
However, I have concerns on if it produces too much noise. Not only that. The snow is apparent in the image and isn’t particularly helpful. I have another image to show as well.
One disclaimer to make first. Technically, this next image is from a future expansion that I have to show. As such this may be deemed as a spoiler. Then again, given the nature of the image. I doubt many people will know what the image is till they reach that point of the story.
Unfortunately, I think this image suffers too much on the noise front. Even if it looks pretty spectactular. The only thing that I could do at this stage is to simply start experimenting with these ideas and see where they will best land.
I don’t think there’s much else to say for today. Also, don’t expect anything else till I make some progress on a new front page design.
Conclusion
Looks like we have reached the end of another post. Don’t worry, I’ll be back tomorrow as per usual (unless I were to no longer be part of this world). There’s a lot happening in the past few days and I’m a bit cocerned on if I’ve become incapable of handling things on my own. I wouldn’t say its all doom and gloom, but my interests may become consequences that I can not escape. Its an odd feeling sometimes. Knowing that the world around you is changing at an accelerated rate and uncertain on what aspects of it you want to adapt and overcome. I suppose the only way that I can respond with that feeling is: “I’ll forge my own path”. I have no idea on how I would accomplish it, but its one that I can’t abandon.
Anyhow, I hope you folks have a good day/night!
One last note: Apparently, I mistyped all of the links that weren’t the main screenshot for today. Thankfully, I didn’t walk straight to before checking.
