Delta Quadrant

So yeah here’s the last of the “Quadrants”. This area in particular is actually kind’ve interesting. Oh yeah I should mention that this area due to my progress in the game is technically a spoilers for Shadowbringers [5.5] I think. For those that haven’t reached past Shadowbringes in general. I suggest not paying too much attention to detail on this shot. But yeah there’s water and crystals all around the place. Honestly, this seems like the most “natural” of quadrants. All the others seem like some experiment gone wrong. Which that probably happened. Anyways, I don’t have much else to say on this screenshot today. I do however got another video available today.

Coerthas Western Highlands Ambiance Video

I swear that the name of this zone always gets me paranoid on if I’m misspelling the name. This zone in particular was a bit interesting to work on. In fact it was one of the things I was mentioning yesterday before it all got deleted for “inactivity”. To do a quick rehash. I’m sort’ve grateful that I’m making recordings of these areas because it captures things that I couldn’t or wouldn’t have noticed before with a plain screenshot. For example witnessing the transition for day to dusk in Falcon’s Nest and Black Iron Bridge was quite amazing. Its partly why I made that the first thing that people get to experience since I doubt people would sit there and watch/listen the entire video. If I were doing my typicall screenshots. It could take days for me to ever witness that moment since all I’m doing is taking a near instant shot for a specific frame of time with my screenshots. This is kind’ve why I mention that I think people would be appreciative of these videos even if no one hardly watches them. Just witnessing some of these moments can be great. Not only that, some people just aren’t fortunate to experience these moments when they first explore these zones just due to the fickle weather.

Thats one thing I’m going to talk about real quick. The weather in this game can either be great or a flipping nuisance. Thank god for the skywatchers because I would be wasting so much time waiting to figure out what the weather is going to change at specific points in time. However, due to the constant change in weather. It can take a fairly quick recording session to a multi-hour to multi-day sessions all because the weather doesn’t want to collaborate with me for one stinkin moment. Mind you, while I would like the ability to control the weather. I also find that really boring to do. Not only that, I would basically be forced to quintuple the size of my workload all because I would have to get a recording of each area in each type of weather. Atleast this way I can use the fickle weather as an excuse to not do so. So please developers don’t give the players the power to change the weather. (Although, it gives me a bit of a neat mechanic idea that they could do for a zone sometime in the future.)

One last thing that I want to note before I let you all disappear into the aether currents. Is the amount of time it takes me to make these videos. Something that you will see most evident is that this video is currently over 3 hours. There’s about 27 areas that I have recorded for this zone and oh god the pain that one must experience for this project. I’m going to try a time myself on how long it takes to make these videos from the beginning to the end. I think this time it took this video about 10-12 hours to make. It took 2 in a half hours to render the flipping video and about another hour just to upload. I don’t even know how long it took to process the High definition version of the video. Regardless, the feasibility of making these videos more than 1 time a week isnt going to happen. Maybe if I feel bored or have nothing better to do. The main problem is that I do have work outside of this project and I like to play other games from time to time. As such while I intend to stick to making one video a week. I don’t plan on trying to push myself until much later.

I hope you find some interesting things to experience with today’s video and may you all have a fortunate day!

Quick Edit: I don’t know how, but I just literally listened the first 5 minutes of the video and didn’t even realized that someone was messing around with the training dummies nearby. I don’t plan on changing it or anything, but I should mention the fact that I can’t hear the in game audio when I record these videos. I have the audio outpot redirected to another one so that I can sit there and watch videos without it conflicting with each other. I technically can hear it through my speakers, but I basically have it on mute. Just enough to tell if the in-game music is on or not. Not enough to notice players messing around my character. I probably could’ve hidden all players around the area, but I want to keep them around as much as possible since I think its neat watching players roam about or doing quests. In my opinion it adds to the ambiance as a whole. Plus its different from the typical sounds that these zones tend to make. Anyways, I’m going to stop saying anymore now that I said my piece. Hope you all don’t outcast me for making this arbitrary decision. (Side note this new solution makes it a whole lot easier to edit the posts once they been uploaded. Its kind’ve nice.)
