Beta Quadrant

This quadrant seems a bit more organic unlike the previous one. Atleast it has caves/tunnels you can explore a tad. Although, I feel like these quadrants in general are not particularly interesting at this height. They seem intended to be seen at the surface level. No matter, I’ll probably take a look at the area more closely once I get to the other quadrants.

New tool for editing and posting

So today I am editing and uploading this post in a slightly different way. About 5 months ago. I wanted to have an option to where I can edit and upload these posts from basically anywhere. The current solution I’ve been using has a few vital problems. Most notably, it requires a fair amount of configuring to get it running. Once its configured, its a breeze to use taking mere minutes upload pictures and post it at the same time. The crux of the problem is that I’m essentially limited to only a few machines with it configured (Technically, I only have one setup) due to its annoying configuration. Not only that, it isn’t foolproof. Over the past few months. I have made some mistakes there and there. The current solution gives me very little info as to what in the world is happening to it and whether or not I made a mistake with it. The most I will ever know is if it fails and how it failed. Beyond that, I won’t know if I forget to upload the picture along with the post unless I check the site itself. Honestly, I can spit out a bunch of reasons why the current solution isn’t structurally sound. The main thing I want to talk about today is my “new” solution.

Filebrowser

Filebrowser (https://filebrowser.org/) on the surface wouldn’t really make much sense as an editor tool. However it can edit files and not only that. It can run shell commands. (Which is sorely needed for me). This new soluition will allow me to edit and upload new posts through the browser which means I can now “effectively” make these posts anywhere. Obviously, I need an internet connection and a way to play Final Fantasy XIV, but that’s a meager point to make right now. Although, the only real crux about this solution is that its more “accesible” to random folks on the internet. Now it does have ssl support and I have given it a unique password and what not. So it should in theory be fine. In fact, I’m going to make a primary account that doesn’t have adminstrator access. So that in the event someone figues out the password for that user. They shouldn’t be able to cause too much damage. I’ll just leave the admin account in a dormant state and only use it when I need to. It will defininetly be a different workflow and may feel a tad clunky in a few spots. Personally, all of the stuff that filebrowser offers is pretty much unneccessary for me to use since I’m perfectly content with using a terminal. In fact, I prefer to use more of a terminal interface, but this will do for now until I find a more preferable alternative (or maybe I’ll figure out how to make one myself).

Anyhow, thats all I got for today. Nothing special beyond me needlessly telling people how I’m making these posts. I hope you folks have a good day/night!
